Nolting did most of this one with a photo copier based off an illo handed off from DWITT that is enlarged to abstraction. 3 colors… Two reds, the second one more distressed than the first, to add some extra texture/richness. Tenebrini’s dad helped print this in DWITT’s absence then he took home Art Of Rock to study in depth. He had no grasp on the concept or a clue about what we did in that dirty South Minneapolis basement so Tenebrini invited him to participate. He thought it was really cool when the last color (black) went down. His eyes lit up. The second layer of red on this looks bad ass. You can’t see it all that well in the photo.
Frank Kozik gave it props saying “ok-this rules. total brutal energy“. Which we all thought was pretty cool given he’s kind of one of the Godfathers of this whole gigposter mess.
